Slow Stitch Community

Please join me on my Slow Stitch course. created this Community a few years ago to bring simple textile experiences to a range of audiences and to support those who feel the need to slow down and support their mental health through creativity.

Those with experience of making textiles, at any level, enjoy slow stitch as it adds another reflective dimension to sewing or embroidery and their art practice. It needs very little equipment and so is transportable, can be done anywhere and can be a source of calm, joy and engagement.

In March 2019, I created a  social media presence including a Facebook SLOW stitch community group. The aim was to create a kind and supportive place for anyone to share their SLOW, simple but beautiful handmade work. I was amazed and truly grateful to see such inspiration and support arise there.  As a result, I began to bring simple practises to the group alongside creating some online and off-line courses, workshops and retreats and subsequently my book.

“SLOW stitch and the art of knowing yourself” to be published in June 2020.

I am also developing training and a social business to assist NHS practitioners to teach slow stitch practice to their clients. For more information about this please contact me, or click the link below if you would like to trial a free Slow Stitch Workshop.
